*મેનેજમેન્ટનું પંચતંત્ર* *

એક સરકસમાં વાંદરો-વાંદરી પરણી ગયાં. થોડા સમય પછી વાંદરીને સારા દિવસો જવા

લાગ્યા. સરકસના પ્રાણી ડોક્ટરે વાંદરીને તપાસીને પૂછ્યું, ‘કેવું બાળક

જોઇએ-છોકરો કે છોકરી?’ પ્રસૂતાએ જવાબ આપ્યો, ‘તેના પગ સાઇકલ ચલાવવા જેટલા લાંબા

હોય અને માથું તોપના નાળચામાં સમાઇ શકે તેવું હોય એમ કરજો. પછી છોકરો હોય કે

છોકરી તેનો કોઇ ફેર પડતો નથી.’-કથાબોધ : કર્મચારી પુરુષ છે કે સ્ત્રી તે

મહત્વનું નથી. જે કામ તેને સોંપાયું છે તે બરાબર કરે છે કે નહીં તે વાત અગત્યની

છે... *

આજકાલ મેનેજમેન્ટની બોલબાલા છે. જેમ જૂના જમાનામાં ધર્મ પાસે બધા પ્રશ્નોના

ઉકેલ હતા તેમ આજે મેનેજમેન્ટ વિજ્ઞાન પાસે જગતનાં તમામ દુ:ખોનો રામબાણ ઇલાજ છે.

જેમ ધર્મ કહેતો કે ગરીબી માટે માણસનાં કર્મો જવાબદાર છે, તેમ મેનેજમેન્ટ કહે છે

કે *ગરીબી એ મેનેજેરિયલ પ્રોબ્લેમ છે. *

જૂના જમાનામાં કોઇ બાવો પોતાને ઇશ્વરની કક્ષા સુધી પહોંચાડી દેતો તેમ એક વાર

મેનેજમેન્ટની કંઠી બાંઘ્યા પછી કેટલાયે માણસો મેનેજમેન્ટ ગુરુ બની જાય છે,

સૂંઠને ગાંગડે ગાંધી થઇ જાય છે. જેમ જૂના જમાનામાં પંચતંત્ર હતું તેમ આધુનિક

જમાનામાં મેનેજમેન્ટ પાસે ‘કેસ સ્ટડી’ છે. તો જોઇએ પંચતંત્રના સ્વરૂપમાં

કેટલાંક કેસલેટ્સ એટલે કે લઘુ કથાનકો.

બાદશાહ અકબરના દરબારમાં ઘોડાનો સોદાગર ઘોડા વેચવા આવ્યો. બે ઘોડી અદ્દલ સરખી

દેખાય. સોદાગર કહે, ‘આમાં એક મા છે ને બીજી દીકરી છે. જો તમે કહી આપો કે મા કઇ

અને દીકરી કઇ તો એક ઘોડી પર બીજી ફ્રીમા આપી દઉ.’ ભલભલા અશ્વનિષ્ણાતો કહી ન

શક્યા. છેવટે બાદશાહે બિરબલને જવાબ શોધવા કહ્યું.

બિરબલે બંને ઘોડીને ખૂબ દોડાવી. પછી બંનેની પીઠ પર હાથ મૂકતાં એકને પસીનો થયો

હતો, બીજાને નહોતો થયો. બીરબલે કહ્યું, ‘પસીનો છે તે મા છે, પસીનો નથી તે દીકરી

છે.’ અકબર બાદશાહને એક ઘોડી મફત મળી.

(કથાબોધ : સોદાગરે ઘોડીના ભાવ બમણા કરી પછી એક પર એક ફ્રી આપવાની વાત કરી.

વેચાણની આ યોજનામાં ગ્રાહકને બમણો સંતોષ મળે છે, એક પોતે બુદ્ધિમાન હોવાનો ગર્વ

થાય છે. બે, તેને એક ઘોડી મફત મળી તેમ લાગે છે.)

રાજાની ભેંસ વિયાણી ને પાડો જન્મ્યો. રાણીને પાડો જોવાનું મન થયું તેથી પહેલા

માળે જનાનખાનામાં નરબચ્ચાંને લાવવાનો હુકમ કર્યો. દાસી તાજા જન્મેલા પાડાને

માવજતથી પહેલે માળે લઇ ગઇ. પછી રાણીને બચ્ચું ગમી જતાં તેને રોજ એક વાર ઉપર

લાવવું તેવો હુકમ કર્યો.

આ નિયમિત ક્રમમાં બચ્ચું અલમસ્ત પાડો બની ગયું, છતાં ક્રમ ચાલુ રહ્યો. એક વાર

રાજાના દરબારમાં એક પહેલવાન આવ્યો. તેણે પડકાર ફેંક્યો કે તે સૌથી વધુ વજન ઊચકી

શકે છે. તેની સામે રાજાના બધા પહેલવાનો હારી ગયા. રાજા મૂંઝાયો ત્યારે રાણી

મદદે આવી. તેણે પાડાવાળી વાત કહી પહેલવાનને પાડો ઊચકીને એક માળ ચડી જવાનો પડકાર

ફેંકવા સલાહ આપી.

બીજે દિવસે દરબારમાં રાજાએ પહેલવાનને પડકાર ફેંક્યો. પહેલવાને મહા મહેનતે

પાડાને ઊચક્યો તો ખરો, પરંતુ દાદર ન ચડી શક્યો. ત્યાં દાસી આવી, પાડાને ઊચકીને

પહેલે માળે સડસડાટ ચડી ગઇ.

(કથાબોધ : રોજના મહાવરાથી સામાન્ય કારીગરો જે મુશ્કેલ કામ કરી શકે છે, તે

નિષ્ણાતો કરી શકતા નથી. દરેક ઉદ્યોગ સંગઠને વ્યૂહાત્મક કામના મહાવરાવાળા

કારીગરો તૈયાર કરવા જોઇએ. તેમના વડે હરીફને જીતી શકાય.)

એક કુંભાર પાસે એક ગધેડો હતો, જે માલવહનનું કામ કરતો. કુંભાર તેને ખૂબ મારતો

અને પૂરું ખાવાનું ન આપતાં બિચારો માયકાંગલો બની ગયો હતો. એક હૃષ્ટપુષ્ટ ગધેડાએ

તેને પૂછ્યું, ‘તું આ શેઠને છોડી કેમ નથી દેતો?

માયકાંગલા ગધેડાએ જવાબ આપ્યો, ‘શેઠ તેની એકની એક તોફાની દીકરીને કહ્યા કરે છે

કે તે બહુ તોફાન કરશે તો તેને મારી સાથે પરણાવી દેશે. હું એ દિવસની રાહમાં આ

બધું સહન કરી લઉ છું. પછી તો શેઠની બધી મિલકત મારી જ છે ને!’

(કથાબોધ: કારીગરો કામ કરે તે માટે પ્રેરણા (મોટીવેશન) અથવા પોષણ (ઇન્સેન્ટિવ)

અપાય છે. પ્રેરણા શાબ્દીક પ્રોત્સાહન છે, જ્યારે પોષણ એ ભૌતિક વસ્તુ આપીને કરાય

છે. ડાહ્યા લોકો ઇન્સેન્ટિવથી કામ કરે છે, ગધેડાઓ પ્રેરણાથી કામ કરે છે.)

રવિવારને દિવસે સિંહ તેની બોડ બહાર સુસ્તાતો હતો. પસાર થતાં એક શિયાળે પૂછ્યું,

‘સમય કહેશો? મારી ઘડિયાળ બગડી ગઇ છે.’ સમય કહેતાં સિંહે કહ્યું, ‘હું તમારી

ઘડિયાળ રિપેર કરી દઇશ.’

શંકા દર્શાવતાં શિયાળે કહ્યું, ‘આ યંત્રરચના અઘરી છે. વળી તમારો હાથ લાગતાં

ઊલટી વધારે બગડી જશે.’

સિંહે કહ્યું, ‘લાવો તો ખરા, હું રિપેરિંગની ગેરંટી આપું છું.’ ઘડિયાળ લઇને

સિંહ બોડમાં અલોપ થઇ ગયો. થોડી વાર પછી રિપેર થઇને બરાબર ચાલતી ઘડિયાળ સાથે

પાછો ફર્યો. શિયાળ આદર સાથે નવાઇ પામ્યો. સિંહ પાછો સુસ્તાવા લાગ્યો.

થોડી વારમાં એક વરુ આવ્યું. તેણે સિંહને પૂછ્યું, ‘મારું ટીવી બગડી ગયું છે

તેથી હું તમારે ત્યાં વન ડે મેચ જોઇ શકું?’ સિંહે કહ્યું, ‘લાવો તમારું ટીવી

રિપેર કરી આપું.’

વરુએ કહ્યું, ‘સિંહને તે વળી ટીવી રિપેર કરતાં આવડતું હશે?’ સિંહે વળતાં

કહ્યું, ‘પ્રયત્ન કરવામાં વાંધો શું છે?’ વરુ ટીવી લઇ આવ્યો. ટીવી લઇને સિંહ

બોડમાં અલોપ થઇ ગયો. થોડી વારે રિપેર થયેલું ટીવી લઇને પાછો આવ્યો. વરુ નવાઇ

પામ્યું અને રાજી થયું.

હવે ગુફાની અંદરનું દ્રશ્ય જુઓ. એક ખૂણામાં નાના અને બુદ્ધિશાળી સસલાઓ બેઠા હતા

અને સાધન-સરંજામની મદદથી ફ્રીઝ, ટીવી, વોશિંગ મશીન વગેરે રિપેર કરતા હતા.

સામેના ખૂણામાં એક સિંહ પોતાના પંજા ચાટતો બેઠો હતો.

(કથાબોધ : કોઇ બુદ્ધુ માણસને પ્રગતિ કરતો જોઇ તમને નવાઇ લાગે ત્યારે તેના

અનુચરો તરફ જોવું, તે બધા બુદ્ધિશાળી હશે. જે મેનેજરના કારીગરો કુશળ હોય તે

મેનેજરને લાયકાત વિના પણ બઢતી મળે છે. પાઠ નંબર બે, સસલાને મારીને ખાઇ જવા

કરતાં તેમની પાસે કામ લેવાથી વધારે ફાયદો થાય છે.)

એક સસલો તેની બોડ બહાર બેઠોબેઠો કમ્પ્યૂટર પર કામ કરતો હતો. ત્યાંથી પસાર થતા

એક શિયાળે પૂછ્યું, ‘શું કરો છો?’ સસલાએ જવાબ આપ્યો, ‘ધંધામાં શિયાળને કઇ રીતે

મારી પાડવો તે અંગે પ્રોજેક્ટ રિપોર્ટ બનાવું છું.’

શિયાળે કહ્યું, ‘સસલો તે કદી શિયાળને મારી શકે?’ ‘વિશ્વાસ ન બેસતો હોય તો આવો

મારા દરમાં’ સસલાએ આમંત્રણ આપ્યું. બંને અંદર ગયા. થોડી વારમાં સસલો શિયાળના

હાડકાંનો ટુકડો ચાટતો બહાર આવ્યો.

થોડી વાર પછી ત્યાંથી વરુ પસાર થયો. સસલો કમ્પ્યૂટર પર કામ કરતો હતો. વરુએ

પૂછ્યું, ‘શું કરો છો?’ સસલાએ જવાબ આપ્યો, ‘ધંધામાં વરુને કઇ રીતે ખતમ કરવો તે

અંગે પ્રોજેક્ટ રિપોર્ટ બનાવું છું.’વરુએ કહ્યું, ‘સસલો તે કદી વરુને મારી

શકે?’ ‘વિશ્વાસ ન બેસતો હોય તો આવો મારા દરમાં.’ સસલાએ આમંત્રણ આપ્યું.

બંને અંદર ગયા. થોડી વારમાં સસલો વરુના હાડકાંનો ટુકડો ચાટતાં બહાર આવ્યો.

છેલ્લે એક રીંછ આવ્યું. કમ્પ્યૂટર પર કામ કરતાં સસલાને પૂછ્યું, ‘શું કરો છો?’

સસલાએ જવાબ આપ્યો, ‘ધંધામાં રીંછને કઇ રીતે પતાવી દેવો તે અંગે પ્રોજેક્ટ

રિપોર્ટ બનાવું છું.’

રીંછે કહ્યું, ‘સસલાની શી મજાલ કે તે રીંછને પતાવી દઇ શકે?’ ‘વિશ્વાસ ન બેસતો

હોય તો આવો મારા દરમાં.’ સસલાએ આમંત્રણ આપ્યું. બંને અંદર ગયા. અંદર એક

ડાલામથ્થો સિંહ પંજા ચાટતો બેઠો હતો.

(કથાબોધ : તમારી તાકાત કેટલી છે તે મહત્વનું નથી. ધંધામાં પાર્ટનર કોણ છે તે

મહત્વનું છે.)

એક નિરીશ્વરવાદી (ભગવાનમાં ન માનનાર) જંગલમાંથી પસાર થતાં ભૂલો પડ્યો. આમતેમ

અટવાતો હતો ત્યાં પાંચ બચ્ચાં સાથે એક ભૂખી રીંછણ આવી ચડી. માણસને જોઇને રીંછણ

ઘુઘવાટા કરવા લાગી. તે વિકરાળ હતી, તેના નહોર ચપ્પુ જેવા તીક્ષ્ણ હતા. ડરનો

માર્યો માણસ દોડવા લાગ્યો.

રીંછણ પાછળ દોડી. ગભરાયેલા માણસથી બોલાઇ ગયું, ‘હે ભગવાન, બચાવ.’ આકાશમાં

ગડગડાટી થઇ. ઈશ્વર બોલ્યા, ‘તમે નિરીશ્વરવાદીઓએ મને ગાંડો કરી નાખ્યો છે. આમ તો

મને માનતા નથી ને પાછી મારી મદદ માગો છો?’

‘હું ભૂલ કબૂલ કરું છું, પણ આ ઉંમરે હવે વિચાર બદલવો શક્ય નથી. પણ રીંછણ નાની

વયની છે, ભગવાન, તેના વિચાર બદલીને તેને આસ્તિક બનાવી દો તો હું બચી જાઉ,’

નિરીશ્વરવાદી બોલ્યો. ઈશ્વરે કહ્યું, ‘તથાસ્તુ.’ થોડે દૂર રહેલી રીંછણ નજીક

આવી, માણસનું ગળું દબોચીને બોલી, ‘આજનું ભોજન આપવા બદલ ઈશ્વરનો આભાર.’

Dear You,

Hi, how are you? Actually, don’t answer that. I know already. I know because I am you. Well, kind of you. I’m the other you; the you, you could be. The you, you want to become. The you that both excites and terrifies you. I am the one who has whispered encouragement in your ear for as long as you can remember. I am the one who planted those dreams in your hopeful, young heart. The one who held your hand when you were scared and the one who knows you best. I have always been there. I will always be there. I am your potential. I am your possibilities. I am your strength.

I am you.

Over the years you have let the noise of the world drown out my whispers. You have allowed life to beat the dreams out of you. You have listened to strangers who resent you and ignored me who loves you. You have allowed logic to replace passion, fear to replace excitement, chaos to replace calm and you let go of my hand long ago. I’m making contact with you today because I want you to know I’m still here. Still waiting. Still whispering. Still planting seeds and still holding out my hand. I know you feel frustrated. I understand. I know you feel like you’ve wasted too much time and talent. You haven’t. I know you feel like a fraud. You’re not. I listen to the conversations; the ones in your head. They are exhausting. And unnecessary. Sometimes I try to interject but lately… you don’ t even hear me.

That’s why this letter.

I see everything you do. Everything. I know you intimately and I want only the best for you. I see your fear and I want you to know that you need not fear because while you are mortal, you also are eternal. Your present physical reality is but a minor pit-stop on a much greater journey. While you have a body, it is not who you are. While you may have achieved much, you are not, and will never be, your achievements. And while you often think too much, your thoughts are not you and you are not them. You are much more than all of those very temporary things. I want you to know that while you are one of six billion, you are both special and unique; even though you don’t feel like either. I know right now that there’s more that you don’t understand than you do… and that’s okay. Normal even. We call that being human. One day, you’ll understand more but for now, you don’t need to understand everything. Nobody does. Sometimes all you need to do is… BE. Can you do that? Thinking is good to a point. After that point, it will make you sick. You have allowed your thoughts to come between you and me… or should I say between you and the you, you have always wanted to become.
In a few seconds when you finish reading this letter, I want you to close your eyes, open your heart, open your mind, be still and just listen. Don’t think, just listen. Please. I’ll do all the talking. Just for a minute or two. Don’t think or rationalise me out of existence. You’ve done that too much already. I know you’re busy but this is important. You’re important. That’s why I hijacked the Fat Ninja’s blog. You listen to him but now I want you to listen to me. Er, you. I want to have that long-overdue conversation with you and I want your full attention. That quickening of your heart, that emotion you’re beginning to feel right now is me. Or should I say, you. The inspirational you. The fearless you. The beautiful, talented, generous, kind and amazing you.

A Man was walking down a street when he heard a voice from behind, 'If you take one more step, a brick will fall down on your head and kill you.' The man stopped and a big brick fell right in front of him. The man was astonished.

He went on, and after a while he was going to cross the road. Once again the voice shouted, 'Stop! Stand still! If you take one more step a car will run over you, and you will die.' The man did as he was instructed, just as a car came careening around the corner, barely missing him.

The man asked. 'Who are you?' 'I am your guardian angel,' the voice answered. 'Oh, yeah?' the man asked 'And where the hell were you when I got married?'

Thought 4

Everyone in the wedding ceremony was watching the radiant bride as her father escorted her down the aisle to give away to the groom. They reached the altar and the waiting groom; the bride kissed her father and placed some thing in his hand. Everyone in the room was wondering what was given to the father by the bride.

The father could feel the suspense in the air and all eyes were on him to divulge the secret and say something. So he announced 'Ladies and Gentlemen today is the luckiest day of my life..' Then he raised his hands with what his daughter gave him and continued, 'My daughter finally, finally returned my credit card to me.'
The whole audience including priest started laughing....
...... But not the poor groom!!!!

> અમારાં ઘરમાં રિપેરકામ માટે એક સુથારને બોલાવેલો. એના કામના પહેલા દિવસની આ વાત છે.. કામ પર આવતાં રસ્તામાં ટાયર પંક્ચર થયું એમાં એનો એક કલાક બગડ્યો. કામ શરૂ કર્યા પછી અધવચ્ચે એની ઈલેક્ટ્રિક કરવત બગડી ગઈ.

> દિવસ પૂરો થયા પછી ઘરે પાછા જતી વખતે એની નાની ટ્રક ચાલી નહીં. હું એને મારી ગાડીમાં એના ઘેર મૂકવા ગયો. રસ્તામાં એ એક પણ શબ્દ બોલ્યો નહીં.

Youbike - Greener Road for Taiwan

BNP Paribas's Insurance hand- cardif sponsors a two-year partnership of the YouBike, the first ever public bicycle system in Taipei, Taiwan.

This has been started in light of Taipei city government's "Building a Green City' project".

YouBike is good example of environment friendly and accessible public policy. Cardif, sponsors the initiative as part of its commitment to the improvement of the quality of life of local community.

YouBike started its first operation on March 11, 2009. At the beginning, only 5 stations operated within the Xin-Yi, the most busy financial district in downtown Taipei. After the test run period of one month ends, a total of 500 YouBikes will be operational in 11 stations within the Xin-Yi district.

The Giant, Taiwan's bike manufacturing leader is responsible for the birth of YouBike. It worked on the project as well as for the YouBike's Kiosk system. The system is compatible with the existing EasyCard in circulation (called YoYoCard in Mandarin). This means that people can use the same card to take the metro (MRT), bus, and even to rent a bike.

Youbike is inspired by "Velib" in Paris.

Negligence in India

I often wonder at individuals capability to neglect, be it a situation, person, emotion or expression. In India you will find many of such self aware. If you cant find one - count yourself among the list.

Negligence is the only constant thing we Indians are possessing since last 5000-7000 years. During those early years many Ved, Kurran and Granthsahib were presented to us to get around from our negligence and lead a better life. We divided ourselves based on those books and religions. Although all meant to say same thing. Even today, things are same, we cry foul when someone from other *religion* does something, and neglect the situation if someone kills our 200-300 countrymen.

Negligence is the only constant thing we Indians are possessing since last 5000-7000 years. Indians never unite themselves against invaders. Foreign invasions never stopped and our ability to divide ourselves and neglect the society and unity, flourished. Our ancestors claimed that our spirit of nationality never died and we Resisted invaders with values of our culture, which we can now translate as "utter negligence towards social responsibility".

While invaders attacked us, we pampered our negligence and gave a new name "Patient". During British Raj we divided among us in name of Hindu, Muslim and what not. We nourished many negligence oriented thoughts and claimed we negligence (or patient) is the solution to all our problems. In fact we missed basic rule of action (Karma) and tend to live a patient-full life.

Post British Raj, India's "The Golden Sparrow" image vanished with emphasis of Western education. We westernised ourselves, bought cars, expensive clothes and spoke English. We took pride in neglecting democracy, nationalism and we glorified our regional leader, we started think region was better choice then the nation, we started neglecting India. Some of our countrymen took benefit from this, they in turn neglected us and called themselves "Politicians", "Goons", "Gangsters", "Smugglers" etc. All they knew was the there will be no resistance from our side, we will surely neglect as we have been doing in past.

Their theory worked like a charm and they climbed on our dead bodies, they wanted to reach high, so they killed more of us in the name of region, religion and caste. Some told us "Look you should be reserved because you are under-privileged" other told us "you are equal, why there is such reservation" and hence we continue fighting. This is how our new generation evolved.

In some places (Mumbai for e.g.), negligence is glorified as spirit. Just like Mumbai spirit that never dies, negligence in India never dies. Indians in 21 century earns more for self and family and neglects the society, "We don't have enough to do for our house" why should I look at society, this is the emphasis of so called westernisation, and we are proud of that.

In the event of recent attacks I read many blogs and theories they all say about doing "something" for this, I am bit reluctant for that urge here, I don't want to neglect the thoughts, I know that we forgot to remember our history.

Food, Oil , Animals and America

People are not getting enough food, well its not about Africa anymore, people around the world are feeling the heat of high food prices, and as usual the blame game is on. All this started some time back in January along with U.S. Housing Crisis.

US is talking about rationing the food, now wait a minute its the U.S. which is consuming the maximum natural resources from all over the world. Few Analysts are blaming bio-fuel. as more and more farmers are diverting towards generating bio-fuel, and eventually blame Mr. Bush's as it is said that low black oil policy of Bush administrator actuly helped American farmers to grow more Corn (Ethanol) for bio-fuel purpose. Now thats a fair point that as Land is not growing, we need to reserve land only for food grains and not for anything else.

Let me come to the point here, U.S. consumes maximum natural resources from around the world. But over 60% of food grains produced in U.S. does not reach humans, instead it is consumed by cows and pigs for producing meat, and animals do not produced same food as what they consume. for e.g. a Cow needs 16 K.G. food to get 1 K.G. of meat.

OK In US American eats 125 kg of meat / year that makes to 35 Mn Ton of meat each year (multiply that by 16 to get how much indirect grains US is consuming).

Comparing to this Chinese consumes 70 kg of meat every year and Indian are far behind ar just 3 KG/year, the pressure on food prices will bounce when over 70% of India's food grains will go to feed the animals producing meat.

Why do they feed their animals with grains? Why don't they just let them graze in the rangelands and consume grass? Well, the number of animals raised for meat production is 50,000 million, eight times the human population. and there isn't enough rangeland to let so many animals roam around and graze. Secondly, animals would grow faster if fed with food grains and other nutrients rather than grass. Naturally, meat factories would like to feed the animals (or let us say overfeed them) with food grains.

Meat is an inefficient energy provider. Would you believe that a beef-eater needs more energy walking one kilometer than a car traveling one kilometer? An example would prove this point. The beef eater would spend 70 k calories in walking one kilometer.

Let us say he gets this energy back by eating a piece of beef containing 70 kcalories. The beef-cow would have eaten food grains containing 1,120 calories to produce this piece of beef, and what about water? 10,000 liters of water are needed to produce 1 kg of beef. Where is the water to produce so many million million tonnes of meat? An animal generates 100 times more waste than a human being. How to dispose off the waste generated by 50,000 million animals.

Raising the animals, meat processing, chilled storage, transportation, retailing and storing the meat in deep freezer at home all require huge amount of energy. A significant portion of fossil fuels is needed to power the meat industry. Surely earth's limited resources cannot sustain two burgeoning populations, human beings and animals. Very soon groundwater will dry up and forests will give way to grazing lands.

One billion cows and one billion pigs of rich countries will compete with world's poor for food and water. As their population is rising faster than human population one doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to know who is winning. And to know why food prices are rising.

I have been thinking lately how much my interest has changed, from my childhood to education and then in the work. I have never imagined that, I would be working in industry which are on the domains of economics and finance. Indeed, along with many other Unpredictable happenings, I had live with macro-economics since few years.

I was bit of unfortunate as I was away while India was progressing with almost 9.5 % growth in 2005-2007, it is now in 2008 world is paying back the price, be it on Credit Crunch, Oil prices or the acute food shortage. You read any economical article and you will see experts finger pointing US, BRIC, CANADA etc. US will say that BRIC nations have this "better diet problem", China will curse US for its preference on Bio-fuels, OPEC is crying foul on Petro production and Africa / Nigeria is deep in civil war situation.

Things cant be worst for the economy, in fact current Indian Govt has no way to get out of this dismal maze. RBI's Sharpest weapon (High CRR ) is blunt now. Infact many MNC Banks do feel that 100 basis CRR Hike is next possible step for RBI. In India, today Energy costs account for 14.2 percent of the inflation index, these prices will surely go up as the diesel and petrol are key inputs for energy production.

Its not just a trend to follow and Calculate your carbon footprint . Even Vatican has included this as a new "Sin". Hinduism has been crying since 5,000 years of protecting nature and considered natural elements as God, but in this urban life who cares about the nature.

It is now that we understood overall picture of what and if of the capitalism, we have endured the life as an entertainment and never as a responsibility that we need to give this place back to our kids, the way we have received it.

Point of pre-formatting this text is not to get scared from the capitalism but to understand a time tested solution for this economical problem and that is Conservative Lifestyle.

Since my childhood, parents have guided me on saving money, saving tree and not to waste food. I had followed that advice till date.

Today I have followed the simplicity more then ever, and I think this is the time for people to realise that not only they should practice simplicity in all aspects of life, but to spread the same message across their groups.

Life should be like small savings scheme, each month you save and at the end of a period you can see a good sum, which might be well utilised when you need that, in case of the environment it is our duty to preserve the nature and environment for our forthcoming generations.

Parenting Ethics, Pregnancy and Juno

I am not a fan of Pregnancy movies and like wise tales. Inspired by its Juno Oscar Win, I decided to have a peek at the Juno from my long list of pending movie collection.

Thankfully Juno changed the way I will look at the movies. I think it was wonderfully to have seen the movie as we are expecting a baby in this summer.

The story is about a Sixteen year teen Juno, she is the typical chirp-chirp girl and has clear words to what she thinks and wants, Juno suddenly faced with a unexpected pregnancy, and with a guy who is not even her boyfriend.

Juno, unlike todays teen girl is pragmatic, she realized the situation.

Juno and her best friend found a Couple (Vanessa & Mark) who were desperate for a child, her father and step mom decided to help her through 9 months.

This was the time when teen realized the value of a family and its importance, Juno was heart broken when she learn that the Mark (Guy in the couple) is not yet ready for the child, and will leave Vanessa soon. She always wanted a perfect little happy family for her baby, and when she could see that it might not be the case, she dropped a note at Vanessa's place, later would-be father (Paulie Bleeker) and Juno developed a relationship and Juno didn't told him of delivery but he rushes to hospital. Both agreed to not to see the child and Vanessa took the kid.

Vanessa framed Juno's note in the baby room, that reads "Vanessa: If you're still in, I'm still in. -Juno."

I was much moved with the determination and maturity of the character, I see that as something diminishing in the modern days. In a recent tragedy involving a harry potter character death the victim's grandmother said "There are babies being born to people-who are children themselves."

Off late I had some non-friendly discussions with parents of some of the kids in my family, I could see them teaching the kids everything which are not organic and miles away from taking responsibilities, parents doing this only shed their kids innocence but they encourage the kids to do wrong doings.

In one more incident of NASA bluff by Kolhapur student , what kind of parent are we becoming now, that inspire kids to go to this stage. Guess the commercialization and improper level of ethical education is the only thing one can blame at.

Bio Fuel's back in Business

Biomass Business is back in talks, with Mr. Branson claiming to fly a Special Boeing 747 powered by Bio fuel from 150,000 Coconuts (its just 20% of the actual fuel required and 80% was Jet fuel), and more sources of Bio - Fuel being discovered, its all new line of business.

The algae is the new source of biomass fuel

Solazyme thinks its on the top of extracting Bio Fuel out of Algae.

Technology Review says that Chevron is now in a "testing agreement" with the prototype. NIST also dished out a $2 million grant to this company.

The main point of interest is the company's special way of using algae to convert biomass into fuel,

Scientist takes the apparently unorthodox approach of growing them in the dark, which causes them to produce more oil than they do in the light.

Solazyme's method also apparently allows them to use different strains of algae to produce different types of oil, or say a blend of hydrocarbons which is almost identical to light crude petroleum.

Latest news confirmed that the company has demo'ed its algae-based fuel in a diesel car.

The window and the curtain

I am a fan of Alfred George Gardiner's Moral stories, I have been reading them since was a kid and these stories were the source of motivation for me in my tough and challenging school life,

One lesson in perticular was of great intrest to me , that was "On Keyhole Morals" , the keyhole is obviously used as metaphor in the context, it represents the so called human curiocity / nature to peep into others lives. Years passed by and this metaphor is now a huge business. Call it a reality TV show, celebrity gosssips or the cheap local tabloids which cashes on this human effinity, and makes millions from the not-so-good side of an individual.

Today I wanted to talk about same-different metaphor , the Window and the curtain.
Its a human tendency to create windows in our heart and then let it close with curtains. why do we need these kind of open and close approach ?

Every individual needs some one who can support, assist and care, the next individual is called a friend. You are lucky if you get a friend with whom you can share your most inner thoughts, its neccesarry that the next person understands your grief, but its equally important to not to judge the individual by their reaction to your thoughts. The windows and curtain comes in, when you open up your thoughts to your friend and then try to shut that by dropping curtains, you drop curtains because you are afraid of the circumstances or the What-If syndrome. If the next person can express all the feelings to you, Why not you, does that steps makes you vulnerable towards the confidence that you have. Is the next person un-trustfull ? is something kept hidden from you?

If the answer is "NO", then one should confide in the friendship and understand that its sheer human nature to dwell in such hysteric situations that creates up the Window / Curtain desires.

Bloggging and daily life.

Starting my daily diary again after some 3 years, it feels great to be back on blog world with your days mirrored on web, thanks to DH for the great title and guess what it was available.

After all not everyone is lucky, lets see now, having spent 1.5 years away from home land makes you addicted to the emotions, specially when you are vulnerable to one. However Singapore being a resilient country for emotions gives you a better place compared to any other social country like US / UK where you see plenty of same culture species.

It's been a tough decision to move away from the glittering lights of a foreign country, however the choice is inevitable, it has to be India , At least for some time when you want to feel the family you have been missing for such a long time. Given that I will some control over the career situations I am bit with stretched legs.
lets see the developments goes, this last 1.5 years were not the best of life, and this gave me a thought to enjoy moments as we progress in life, After all not every one gets a second life , right Arry :)

Cost of unplanned activities - Health

This is my clear case of - Cost of unplanned activities.

Since last 3-4 weeks, I am completle unplanned. this reflects in my health, working environment, nature and above all in my thinking as well.

I am a usual late @ the office , because I am staying late, because I have most of the task with my other team - which has time-zone diff....(and more becuase)

This all has something to relate to my changing nature, if not the kind of behaviour change I am undergoing... though it is difficult for me to change the way I take up, or may be I am not biologically - compitant to undertake such changes, whatever is the case I have decided to make myself bit organised and to take things further from there

First and foremost problem which I am having is related to diet and health, once I boasted on my steady and strong health , since last 5 years this was a memory and never achieved that back, one of my dream while here in singapore is to regain that physic which i used to have some 10yrs back, this did sound a bit magical, but this is what i am looking at...

I earlier took a distinctive note and thought that I could do this with my wifes aid, this was not a good look , as I was dragging her in my frick-ideas (which she always appreciated !!!), but now I realized that You can not make someone else thin, just because you want to become one...

I will take some time and you will soon see on this blog...why I took some time to do what things...
